Double yellow lines and speed limit change proposed for roads near north Shropshire primary school
The scheme would introduce double yellow lines and a longer 30mph zone
A raft of safety measures are being proposed for roads outside a north Shropshire primary school.
Shropshire Council is proposing to introduce a new 30mph zone and double yellow lines near Welshampton Primary School.
If approved, the scheme would see the existing 30mph speed limit on Stocks Lane and Station Lane extended in a bid to slow down traffic in the vicinity of the school’s car park.

The introduction of new waiting restrictions at the A495 Stocks Lane and Copes Lane junctions is intended to improve visibility for drivers and pedestrians when exiting onto the A495.
Full details of the proposals can be viewed online or at Ellesmere Library during regular opening hours. Alternatively, you may request copies by emailing [email protected], writing to Traffic Engineering Team, Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury or calling 0345 678 9077.
Those wishing to raise an objection, express support, or make any other comments about these proposals are asked to email or send a letter by August 31 to the contact details above.
For legal reasons, objections must be made in writing or by email, and should state the grounds on which the objection is made. Objections cannot be accepted over the phone.
