'Love you bro': Telford drugs boss who had cosy relationship with dealer is jailed over heroin racket that pulled in more than £2,000 a day
A drugs kingpin who ran an operation in Telford which made more than £2,000 a day has been jailed.
Father-to-be Izar Ahmed, aged 32, ran the Goldie drugs line, supplying to street dealers who would peddle heroin directly to customers.
Shrewsbury Crown Court was told how another dealer, who was arrested in his car with £500 worth of drugs on January 11 of 2023, told police that Ahmed was the one who ran the “Goldie” line.
A couple of days later, Ahmed was arrested and phones were seized.
After the phones were examined, “flare” messages were sent from one of the phones advertising “fat deals” for drugs to multiple potential customers.
Daily updates were shared with one of Ahmed’s most trusted dealers, who reported selling drugs worth £2,370 on one day, boasting that if he was told to make sales of £1,500, he would achieve £2,000.
