Valerie Parker, owner of Excentric, on Dogpole in the town centre, was convicted in her absence at Telford Magistrates Court and ordered to pay a total of £2,740 in fines and costs.

The charges followed a test purchasing exercise conducted by trading standards officers during February 2023.

A spokesperson for Shropshire Council said that selling a nicotine-containing vaping device to anybody under the age of 18 is against the law and this prosecution supports its position that vaping is not for children and may be harmful to health.
