Martin Dudley was sentenced at Telford Magistrates Court

Telford Magistrates Court heard that Martin Dudley, aged 38, constantly sent texts, WhatsApp messages and voicemail messages in a 10-day stalking campaign earlier this summer.

He demanded to know who she was in a relationship with, wanted items from inside her house and, on one occasion, said he would kill himself unless she dropped charges against him.

The court heard on Wednesday how he rang up to 50 times in one day, and threatened to send someone to smash up her car as their relationship broke down. He also raised his hand during an argument, but didn't hit her.

In another text he said: "I have taken the TV and the Xbox and left your front door open," after she texted him to say she was no longer paying his car insurance. This left his victim having to check with a neighbour who confirmed it was closed.

Prosecutor, Miss Sara Beddow, explained how Dudley's victim was forced to take different routes to work in a bid to avoid him, but he also turned up at her place of work to speak to her.
