Thieves try to steal phone

Two thieves tried to snatch a mobile phone from a shopper in Oswestry.

The attempted robbery happened in a store in Cross Street in the town at about 10am on Monday.

Police say one offender was about 21 years old and was wearing a dark jacket and black jogging bottoms.

The other was about six foot ball with a Spurs FC scarf round his face and was wearing black jogging bottoms.

Officers are urging people who saw anything or who may know the two men to contact them on 101.

On December 13 between 12-12.30pm an older shopper's multi-coloured purse with cash and bank cards are thought to have been stolen or dropped and not returned while in Salop Road.
