Police arrested three men following the dispute, which saw a 14-year-old boy and two others injured.

It happened at 3.40pm on Monday and involved the occupants of a Peugeot and Audi on Wrockwardine Road, Telford, near to Beveley roundabout.

The victims, aged up to 19, remain in hospital, although the extent of their injuries was not yet known.

They were not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Superintendent Tom Harding, the town’s policing commander, said a full investigation into the stabbings was now under way.

“It is important to stress that we do not have an issue with knife crime in Telford compared to other parts of the country,” he said.

Deployed

“I fully understand how concerning an incident of this nature can be for our local communities.

“I would like to offer my reassurance that a full investigation will now be carried out to ensure all of those suspected of being involved are arrested.

“We will continue to use the powers we have at our disposal to make our communities even safer and make sure anyone who is in possession of a knife, or any other weapon, is dealt with accordingly.”

He added extra officers would be deployed to the area as enquiries into the incident were carried out.

Police are appealing for anybody who might have seen the dispute to come forward.
