Spate of thefts from vehicles in Shrewsbury area probed by police

Police are investigating a spate of thefts from vehicles in the Shrewsbury area.

The first incident happened at about 11pm on March 31 when a man pushing a bike was seen removing a sat nav from a vehicle parked in Ashley Street in Monkmoor.

The offender had been trying car doors and made off when challenged by a neighbour. He was described as wearing a black coat with a hood and white boots.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 0940s of March 31.

The next incident saw plant and power tools stolen from a van in a driveway in Flagwall, off Crowmere Road overnight between 11.15pm and 8.30am on March 31 and April 1.

Anyone should contact police using incident number 0219s of April 1.

During the same night, a van in Abbots Road was raided.

Four Makita power drills, a reciprocating saw, a charger and a chainsaw were stolen.

Anyone should contact police using incident number 0305s of April 1.

A car at the end of a driveway in Copthorne Gardens was entered between 1.30pm on April 1 and 10am the next day and the contents of a wallet were stolen.

Cash and cards were removed and the empty wallet put back in the car.

Anyone should contact police using incident number 0348s of April 1.

Finally, at about 11pm on April 1, a man was seen trying to raid a van parked outside a property in Thorns Grove, Bicton Heath.

The man, who was described as in his 20s with a baseball cap, jeans and a blue rucksack, ran off when challenged. No thefts were reported.
