John Taylor 'killed wife Alethea with pillow case'
A funeral director denied murdering his wife by smothering her with a pillow after she had stormed out of a choir practice and 'annoyed' him, a court heard.
John Taylor was forced to run after his wife Alethea after she left the rehearsals for The Birchpole Singers at Yarpole Church, near Ludlow, complaining that someone was sitting in her seat.
The 61-year-old found her nearby at a friend's house and they returned to their home in Mortimer Drive, Orleton. But he reported her missing the next day, on January 19 last year, and she has not been seen since.
Taylor denies murdering Mrs Taylor and disposing of her body. But police believe he murdered her following the row and found bloodstains in the bedroom as well as in Taylor's BMW car. A pillow was also missing.
The father-of-two said the stains came from a nosebleed suffered by Mrs Taylor.
