Hello everyone. This week I’ve got some great money saving and freebie schemes at shops to tell you all about, writes mother-of-two Amy Grayland.

Let’s start with the Boots “scan 2 recycle” scheme. This is a separate website to the Boots website and firstly, you’ll need to sign up and make an account. This app will give you a 500 point bonus when spending £10 or more in one transaction. 500 points is £5 in boots points and so this is a brilliant, money saving scheme. The best part is, until the end of August they’ve got an extra scheme which will give you a £5 off voucher when you buy two or more qualifying products from NYX, Maybelline or L’Oréal.

Here’s a walk through of how to use this website and how to make the most of it!

Once you’re signed up, you’ll then need to upload items into the website, these items need to be “hard to recycle” items. To name just a few, you can recycle, baby wipe packets, nappy packets, sanitary towel packets and wrappers, formula scoops, soap pump and bottles, empty make up items, face wipe packets, toothbrushes, toothbrush heads, toothpaste tubes along with mini toiletry samples and skincare samples. The website has a full list if you head over to it.
