Owner Chris Harrison celebrates as Dale End Cafe has now reopened after the premises had to close last month due to flooding

Dale End Café, in Coalbrookdale, was hit during the Storm Babet deluge in October when the local brook broke its banks despite flood defences and swept dirty water into the vulnerable property.

Owner Chris Harrison said: "We lost most of our equipment and sundries.

"But now we have cleaned the place out and are ready to go again. We have been on our hands and knees scrubbing every nook and cranny of the dirt."

Dale End Café has reopened

The café has opened for takeaways at the moment and, although customers can sit inside and eat, they have no plates to serve on.

"I can't afford to replace things at the moment," said Chris.
