Daniel Edge, formerly of Woore, had denied five charges, including three counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, one count of intentional strangulation, and another of making threats to kill but was convicted by a jury on all counts last month.

The 37-year-old had been due to be sentenced last week at Shrewsbury Crown Court but he had refused to leave his cell and the case was adjourned.

On Friday, defence barrister Mr Rob Edwards said Edge had again refused to leave his cell.
