Storm clouds gather over Shropshire
It’s been a gorgeous few days across the region - but storm clouds are gathering.
The sunshine and high temperatures which have gripped Shropshire and Mid Wales over the weekend and into the early part of the week were due to give way to black clouds and rain today.
Forecasters were warning of possible thunderstorms as captured in this stunning picture by Shropshire Star reader Chris Jones, from Shrewsbury.
But it’s not all bad news as the sun should be back in time for the weekend.
The Met office was predicting patchy rain this morning which is likely to turn heavier and more persistent through the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Wednesday is expected to be dry, with sunny spells developing. Some showers may return on Thursday and Friday but there will be sunny spells too.
