Boxing coach found shot dead in Shropshire car park, inquest told

An inquest of a Thai boxing coach who was found in a car park with a shotgun wound to his head has been opened.

Matthew Kendall, 39, of Wednesfield, West Midlands, was found dead on October 12 in Church Stretton an inquest in Wellington was told.

The inquest heard that he was found lying on the ground at Pole Cottage car park next to a shotgun.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The inquest is expected to resume at Telford Register Office, in Wellington, on January 25.
