Motoring fans rally round in tribute to Simon at event near Market Drayton

More than 450 cars descended on the Wharf Tavern in Goldstone near Market Drayton for the annual show, which had been organised by Simon Beresford for the last 22 years.
Sadly Mr Beresford, 58, of Market Drayton, died in April after being diagnosed with sarcoma, a cancerous tumour, in November.
Mr Beresford was the founder of the Wharf Classic Car Show, which has grown in popularity over the last 22 years.
His family have now vowed to keep the show going in his memory with the support of the Shropshire group of the TR register.
His wife Helen said the latest event, on Thursday evening, was a "great success".
She said: "There were about 450 cars there which was amazing.
"Everyone came along and parked up and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.
"We had to use two overflow car parks and expanded into another field – it was just brilliant.
"We had several cars worth more than £1 million including Ferrari's, which was fantastic. However it was more about the love of cars rather than the most expensive.
"People all voted for the best car award which went to a special Jaguar.
"People also voted two of our Triumphs to win special prizes.
"It was a very emotional evening but also very good. There was a lot of support."
The get-together, known as the Wharf Classic Car Night, sees enthusiasts from north Shropshire, Cheshire and north Staffordshire come together for the event which Helen said will continue next year. She added: "We want to keep it going for Simon.
"He used to organise the event single-handed, but it took an army of family members for us to pull it off. However he never wanted recognition for his hard work. He would work so hard but always played it down. He was so highly thought of because of his kind manner. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and helped at the event. It was brilliant."
The car show raised £1,115 for Sarcoma UK.
