CCTV: Police hunt man after bag snatched on train in Shropshire
Police are searching for a bag snatcher who took a piece of luggage on a train from Shropshire to South Wales.
The bag was stolen from a train travelling from Shrewsbury to Newport just before 7.15pm on December 17.
Today police released an image of a man they want to talk to in connection with the offence.
Investigating officer PC Kirk Smith said: "The victim, an 18-year-old woman from Cardiff, boarded the train at Shrewsbury and placed her black holdall in the designated luggage rack.
"Around 15 minutes into the journey, as the service was arriving at Church Stretton, a man grabbed the bag just as the train doors opened and walked off with it.
"Following extensive enquiries, officers have now managed to isolate CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
"He is described as white, in his early 20s, with brown hair, and was wearing a grey hooded top and a yellow high visibility jacket," added PC Smith.
"I believe he will have vital information which could greatly assist our investigation. We need help to find out who he is."
