Overnight closures on M54 continue
Overnight closures on the M54 will continue over the weekend.
The eastbound carriageway will be closed tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday night between Junction 3 for Albrighton and Cosford and Junction 2 for Wolverhampton as work to repair damaged concrete slabs continues.
It is hoped the work will be complete by Monday, but Highways England has warned its may take longer if the weather is particularly bad.
Problems were discovered last week and engineers have been working round the clock to fix the damage, which has involved some lane closures during the day.
Ian Askew, asset development team leader at Highways England, said: "We've been working all hours to try to get this fixed.
"The overnight shifts this week have helped us get a lot of work done, but unfortunately we need to keep this section closed over the weekend to get the work done."
