When Janet Jennings planted foxgloves in her country cottage garden she never imagined one would grow to more than 8ft tall.

Now the impressive plant towers above all her other flowers and has provided a focal point in her Market Drayton garden.

The 70-year-old said: "Gardening is my passion. I couldn't live without my garden.

"I have been gardening for about 40 to 50 years now. My dad was a keen gardener so passed on the interest to me.

"This foxglove is very impressive. It is more than 8ft tall now and looks lovely.

"I think it has reached that height due to the good weather – we have had some sun and some rain which is perfect conditions.

"This has given it a boost. I am quite proud of it."
