The events will take place to fill vacancies in a number of departments at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Telford's Princess Royal Hospital.

It comes after the success of recent events organised by Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust which led to more than 200 healthcare assistants being recruited.

The upcoming events, which will be held at Shropshire Conference Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on April 1 and 9, are being organised in response to a national staffing shortage in the NHS, according to trust chiefs.

Health bosses say the events are an excellent opportunity to meet members of the senior nursing team have a tour of one of the hospital sites, and learn more about what the trust has to offer.

Posts are available in both the unscheduled and scheduled care groups, including in the acute medical units, cardiology/coronary care unit (CCU), nephrology and the acute stroke unit. There are also opportunities on the surgical wards including colorectal and gastroenterology, head and neck, the surgical assessment unit and trauma and orthopaedics. The trust is also recruiting to its temporary staffing department.

Sarah Bloomfield, director of nursing and quality at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), said: "We are very keen to encourage applications from registered nurses in community settings, including care homes and GP practices, who wish to come back into the acute hospital setting, and from student nurses due to qualify in the next six months."

Both events will include representatives from the trust's corporate education team, clinical practice educators, the library and the Royal College of Nursing and Unison unions, together with members of the employee experience team, who will be on hand to answer any questions.

Members of the recruitment team will also be on hand to co-ordinate all the necessary assessments, interviews and pre-employment checks.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to book a four-and-a-half hour time slot on one of the recruitment days. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to apply for the posts they are interested in on the NHS Jobs at www.jobs.nhs.uk, using the keyword "nurse" and location "Shropshire".
