Michael Lee Jones was already subject of a suspended prison sentence at the time of the attack.

Jones, 26, of Tregarth, Machynlleth, left victim Robert Daley with blurred vision for days and is now left with an increased risk of suffering glaucoma and cataracts.

Judge David Hale said the sentence would have to be immediate and jailed him for a total of 11 months.

Judge Hale, sitting at Mold Crown Court, said that the victim was wary of the defendant and ran away when he saw him approach. But Jones ran after him, knocked him down and kicked him to the head and body.

"You did that some six months after you were placed on a suspended sentence for a public order offence in Aberystwyth when you kicked someone else to the head," he said.
