Wrekin Housing Trust wants to build a modern cottage-style affordable housing development.
Meanwhile, Coverage Care wants to build a 90-bed care home on another part of the site. There is also a plan for a 70-space car park extension for the Severn Fields Health Village. And the remaining land has been earmarked as an ecological site.
The site was last used by the Territorial Army in January 2010. And cadets currently use the site at weekends.
