Three-year ban for drink-driver clocked at over 100mph in Broseley
A drink driver caught speeding at over 100mph through Broseley while nearly twice the drink-drive limit has been banned for three years.
It was the second time Andrew Scoltock had been caught drink driving, Telford Magistrates Court heard yesterday.
The 38-year-old Ford Fiesta driver was pulled over by police on Coalport Road, Broseley at 3.45am on April 20.
He was breathalysed and gave a reading of 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Mrs Kate Price, prosecuting said: "Police trying to catch up with him had to drive up to 110mph. The driver stopped and was put in the back of the police car and taken into custody where he blew 64 when the legal limit is 35."
Scoltock, who admitted a charge of drink driving was also banned for drink driving in August 2004, meaning he faced a mandatory 36-month ban.
Magistrates activated the ban and fined Scoltock, of Dudley Port, Tipton, £260 along with £85 costs and a £26 surcharge.
