Shrewsbury teenager given work order over offensive videos
A teenager from a village near Shrewsbury who admitted owning "offensive and disgusting" videos of people having sex with animals has been ordered to carry out 125 hours unpaid work.
Daniel Talbot, 18, from Cressage, had admitted possessing the images, which consisted of three videos, and appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday for sentencing.
In addition to the unpaid work, he was also ordered to pay £500 towards costs.
Judge Robin Onions told Talbot that he had shown great "immaturity and stupidity" and warned him against viewing such videos again.
He also sounded a warning against sending sexual photographs, after police officers found legal images on his phone that he had been sharing with a young woman.
Stephen Scully, for Talbot, said his client had found the videos on Facebook when he was 16 or 17. He added: "Someone else had put them there and, demonstrating a lack of maturity, he downloaded them on to his phone. He may have thought they were funny at the time, but I can assure the court he is not laughing any more."
