Victims of road crashes are named
Police have named a man who died in a road crash on the Shropshire border as Andrew Trevor Watkins of Llansantffraid.
Mr Watkins, who was 59, died in a two-car collision on Wednesday.
He died when the silver Peugeot 307 he was driving was involved in a collision with a black VW Caddy on the A495 near the village of Llanyblodwel at around 8.40am.
The Peugeot also struck a road sign following the initial collision, ending up on its roof.
West Mercia Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and a report is being prepared for the Shropshire coroner John Ellery.
The fatality was one of two on the region's roads last week.
A motorcyclist who died in a collision with a lorry near Ludlow on Tuesday has been named as Nicholas Stephen Taylor, aged 64, from Knighton in Mid Wales.
Mr Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the A49 Bromfield Road at around 2.30pm. An inquest into his death will open tomorrow in Telford.
