Shrewsbury nurse barred after Ann Summers sex toy talk on ward

A nurse who moonlighted as an Ann Summers representative and discussed sex toys on a neonatal ward has been barred from the profession.

Susan Garbett flaunted details of an intimate cream from the adult store with her colleague at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shopshire.

The nurse was also caught feeding a premature baby chocolate buttercream icing from her bare finger behind his mother's back, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.

And Garbett was found to have inappropriately given her mobile number to a new mother so she could be sent a gift of a digital code allowing her tickets to the cinema.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council reached its decision on Friday.

Garbett had not been attending the hearings in London.

A fourth allegation that she left children in her care unattended twice on the July, 28, 2012 was admitted in internal interview.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust has said that Garbett has not been its employee since January 2013.
