Part of Telford Town Centre one-way system to close
A section of road on a Telford one-way system will be closed on Monday as part of work to improve access into the new Southwater development and the Telford Shopping Centre.
The stretch will reopen as a two-way road in March next year.
Almost £12 million is being invested into turning the Box Road which surrounds the stores into the two way system.
Making changes will improve access to and between the £250m Southwater development and Telford Shopping Centre, which is also soon to undergo a £200m redevelopment.
This next phase will involve closing access to the bus gate from Malinsgate onto Coach Central permanently to make way for new roundabout as part of making Woodhouse and Coach Central two way.
Russell Griffin, of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "The bus gate will be closed to enable the start of building of the new roundabout, part of making the Box Road two way. "
Motorists also face disruption as work on bridges over the M54 continues. The bridge carrying the A5223 over junction six at Ketley Dingle will close tonight for five days.
