Arrest after man suffers cut face at Market Drayton pub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after another man suffered a cut face during an incident in a Market Drayton pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place at around 9.40pm on Friday in The Sandbrook Vaults, in Shropshire Street.

A 26-year-old man went to hospital for stitches to a two-inch cut on his cheek which police say may have been caused by a glass.

Detective Constable Nick Williams said: "There were quite a few people in the pub at the time and I urge anyone who saw any part of this incident, to contact us. The victim was assaulted and received a nasty cut to the his face during an altercation with another man inside the premises."

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and given police bail with conditions while inquiries continue.
