Star Greg Davies in superhero capers at shop centre

Is it a bird? It is a plane? Is it Superman? Actually no, it's Shropshire comedian Greg Davies recording a music video with 90s band The Wonder Stuff at Telford Town Centre.

Davies, who grew up in Wem, was seen filming in the centre on Tuesday dressed as a superhero alongside Wonder Stuff frontman Miles Hunt.

They were recording a video for the band's new song, Oh No, released next month and between takes Davies, complete with red cape and boots and a black mask, posed for pictures with fans.

He said: "I was a huge fan of them back at uni and met Miles Hunt the lead singer when he came along to one of my gigs. He subsequently asked if I'd do the video. It involved Miles and I running around Telford dressed as rubbish super heroes."

Rebekah Price, 20, from Stirchley, was working at Warren James when she saw the comedian filming. She said: "One of the security guards said he was on the other side of the centre filming and then all of a sudden he was outside and then in our shop.

She added: "He chatted to us and we had a picture taken. He was really friendly."

Emma Bates, store manager at Internacionale, said: "Sales assistant Rosie Hounsell was dressing the window and the producer asked if they could film in the shop window. They acted like they were being shown what to do and Rosie had to shake her head in disapproval."

Stormfront assistant manager, Phil Gajewski, 26, took the chance to have his picture taken with Greg. He said: "At one point they stood back to back filming with their hands on their hips in Superman poses."

Steve Williamson, store manager at Game, was thrilled to meet Miles Hunt, lead singer of The Wonder Stuff.

He said: "Miles was wearing a silver superhero costume and they spent over two hours filming around the centre."
