More than 800 people have 'liked' a Facebook page set up in memory of the 27-year-old, who is believed to have been murdered at her home in Blakemore, Brookside.

Miss Russell, who had an eight-year-old son, Bradley, and an 11-month-old son, Macauley, was six months pregnant with a baby girl when she died.

Friends and family have described her as a 'loving mum' with 'her whole life in front of her'.

Sister Lyndsey Roper said the death had left her with 'pins and needles in her heart'.

She said: "We were so close – best mates as well as sisters. I always looked up to her as a big sister.

"We told each other everything. I keep looking at my phone waiting for her to ring me. It's going to be so hard not being able to hear her voice again.

"Kim has left a massive gap in my heart that will never heal."

She described her sister and unborn niece, named Ellisia Mai, as 'two bright stars in heaven'.

Talking about her nephews she said: "I will never let them forget their mum."

Sister Leanne Roper added: "My beautiful sister and her innocent baby were taken and we are all left in pieces.

"Kim and Ellisia Mai we love you so much, I would do anything to bring you both back. Life isn't the same anymore.

"May you rest in peace Kim and Ellisia Mai, love your heartbroken sister Leanne, nephew Kieran and brother-in-law Eric.

"Love you both so much rest in peace, gone but never, ever forgotten."

Paul Steventon, father of Kim's eldest son Bradley, said: "Kim was a good mum. I have told Bradley his mum is with the angels now.

"I don't think it has really sunk in for either of us yet."

Kim's cousin, Carl Russell, added: "I will miss my beautiful cousin so much. I love her and will never forget her."

Friend Laura Bradshaw wrote on the tribute page: "RIP Kim and baby still can't believe it such a waste of two lives.

"Thoughts go out to all the family and her little boys, heaven has gained two special angels"

Lucy Noonan also wrote a tribute. She said: "RIP sweetheart I will never forget you, you were one of the best."

Other tributes on the page described Kim as a 'lovely girl' who would be missed by many and who was a 'privilege to know'.

One read: "Two beautiful lives taken away so needlessly, heaven has gained two princesses."

Police have said post mortem investigations have proved inconclusive and a cause of death has not yet been established.

They are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Steve Tonks, the senior investigating officer, said: "I would once again like to take this opportunity to ask local people to come forward with any information they have that could help the investigating team. Every piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant it seems on the surface, is very important to us.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone in the community who can offer us information that can help us piece together Kim's movements in the days leading up to her death, or anything relating to her home address on Blakemore that could be of interest to us."
