Majestic Wines took over the Ludlow Tackle shop in Bromfield Road in May after buying out owner Neil Price for a 'significant sum'. Since then builders have been working at the store, which will house more than 800 different wines.

Emma Raper, public relations manager for Majestic Wines, said the Ludlow store would be the 187th to be opened in the UK.

She added: "The store opening will create four jobs and more information about these will be put on the Majestic Wines website shortly. We need to get final confirmation of when the store will open but we are looking at late September or early October.

"The opening will be celebrated with wine-tasting events which will be organised when the opening date is confirmed."
