Dozens of book lovers from across Shropshire are on library waiting lists for a copy of the bestselling novel 50 Shades of Grey.
Staff from Shropshire Library Service said 48 people had reserved the racy book so far – with the number growing every day.
Currently all eight copies of the novel are out on loan across the county's 22 libraries.
And according to library staff it is word of mouth that is driving interest in the county.
Caroline Buckley, branch manager at Shrewsbury Library, said: "People are talking about it. There is a lot of curiosity about the book."
Gill Millatt, branch manager of Ludlow Library, said: ""It's a great talking point, we get lots of women coming into the library to talk about it."
County book shops are also reporting huge sales.
Rob White, sales assistant at Waterstones in High Street, Shrewsbury, said: "Sales are reaching double figures every day, which is a lot for one book."
The novel, written by British author EL James, charts the relationship between a young college student and her rich older lover.
