Telford & Wrekin Council has announced that it was pulling out of a joint agreement with Shropshire Council to provide high speed broadband to the rural area of Telford.

This means T&W's rural residents will be condemned to low broadband speeds forever

This will close the door to businesses who might want to set up in the rural area, and those already there may well relocate into Shropshire, with the consequent loss of employment and wealth creation for Telford.

This shows yet again that Labour councillors do not understand business creates employment and the wealth that Labour is so fond of spending.

There is another aspect to this. Telford Labour Group appears to have cancelled all joint working with the Shropshire Authority simply because it is a Conservative administration. This attitude is morally reprehensible and financially foolish.

Joint working could save the authority a lot of money.

The Labour councillors are blinkered to such a degree that their fitness to be in power must be questioned.

They truly hate all things Conservative, but it is all of us who will suffer.
