The scene of the car crash on the A442 at the junction for Peplow today

Chris Kowalik, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "It appeared to be two cars in collision at the junction for High Hatton.

"We had one patient and there is nothing to suggest any serious injuries. One ambulance crew attended and has handed the patient over to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford."

The incident caused delays for morning commuters as police closed the road between the A53 junction in Hodnet and the B5062 Crudgington crossroads.

Traffic was diverted until the road reopened at about 8.30am.

Lorries which could not turn around because the road was too narrow had to wait for emergency services to finish at the scene before being allowed to continue.
