People in Shropshire will be greeted by a familiar face when they receive their new phone book from BT.
The telecommunications giant is paying tribute to Tessa Sanderson, the only British woman to ever win a throwing gold medal, by carrying a picture of her throwing the javelin on the front cover of its Shropshire phone books.
Inside the book, every resident has the chance to win tickets to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the opening and closing ceremony.
Tessa, who competed in six Olympics and won gold at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, said: "It's a great idea to feature Olympic and Paralympic personalities on the BT phone book to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and I'm delighted to be the athlete on the cover."
She used to live in Telford and was a sports development officer with Telford Development Corporation.
To be in with a chance of winning tickets people need to find the freephone prize draw number in the classified section of the book, call with their details and they will automatically be entered into a draw.
In addition, the lucky resident who finds Tessa's signed copy of the Shropshire phone book landing on their doormat will win £100 worth of sports vouchers so they can begin preparing for the 2012 extravaganza.
David Grossman, chief executive of BT Directories, said: "Offering Shropshire people the chance to win tickets for London 2012 is a great way to celebrate BT's involvement with the Games."
