Car overturns in Wem road smash

A woman escaped serious injury after her car overturned following a two-vehicle smash in Wem.

The woman was trapped in her Toyota Yaris when the car overturned in New Street after colliding with a Renault Laguna shortly before 5.30pm yesterday.

Fire crews freed the woman and she was treated for minor injuries before being taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
