Shropshire brewery takes top award

A Shropshire brewery is toasting the sweet smell of success after one of its ales was named the best in the West Midlands.

Lemon Dream, made by Shrewsbury-based Salopian Brewery, won West Midlands Beer of the Year at the Dudley Winter Ales Festival.

The event, organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), was held last Thursday to Saturday.

Brewery partner Wilf Nelson, who developed the recipe, said: "Lemon Dream has developed a cult following."
