This appears to be done on the basis of the needs of the people of Powys.
As the people of Powys have decided on a policy of self-determination and independence, surely the MP for Shrewsbury would be better campaigning for an NHS service for local people and supporting calls for a hospital attached to Gobowen or Wrexham to serve the people of Powys, on which the people of Telford and Wrekin would support.
We must get away from the principle of robbing Peter to pay Paul to satisfy a third party with Telford PRH being Peter.
The Darzi Review calls on health service needs for the local population and firmly believe that the people of Powys would be better served by having their own provision, rather than travelling to Shrewsbury or Telford and that the residents of Shrewsbury and Telford would have two excellent hospitals serving their needs.
Having attended every Telford PCT meeting, I do welcome the change of stance in supporting hospital services at PRH, but I would like this to be for all times.
My opinion is based on the population explosion predicted in Telford from when the hospital was built of 61,000 approx to current levels of about 160,000.
This means the PRH should be improved and expanded to meet the increase of services, not downgraded.
