So grateful for kind help after fall
Letter: It is my earnest wish to thank two people who came to my aid when I fell in Park Avenue, Oswestry, on my way to a funeral in Seion on July 4.
Letter: It is my earnest wish to thank two people who came to my aid when I fell in Park Avenue, Oswestry, on my way to a funeral in Seion on July 4.
The first person, a lady who happened to be passing on the other side of the road on her way shopping, took me back to her home in Park Avenue where I sat for a while as she rendered some initial first aid.
A little later, having decided it was impossible to continue to Seion, we walked back up Park Avenue.
As we crossed the road by The Park Avenue Stores, a gentleman who was just parking his car to collect his paper offered to take me to the orthopaedic, where he stayed well over an hour before I was transferred to Shrewsbury.
I had never met or seen either of these persons before and cannot express how grateful I am for their extreme kindness in so many ways.
Later I was able to make contact by phone. Now at last I wish to repeat my grateful thanks and appreciation to Mrs Alma Jones and Mr Clegg (Pant Glas).
Such acts of kindness are invaluable. My thanks also to family and friends in their concern and to a kind neighbour for her help.
We are being reminded constantly of the evil and troubled world but "the good Samaritan" is well and truly around. Thank God for such examples of blessed humanity and that He reveals himself through His people.
Finally my thanks to the Shropshire Star for the opportunity to express my feelings of gratitude in writing.
Mair Mason, Oswestry
