Heather gets £24m divorce payout

Heather Mills says she has been awarded a £24.3m settlement in her bitter divorce from Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.

Miss Mills said she was "so pleased it's over" before revealing that she is to continue her legal battle as early as Tuesday by challenging the publication of the ruling.

Speaking on the steps of the High Court, she insisted she was "very, very happy" with the decision.

The judgment said she had sought £125m and been offered £15.8m by Sir Paul.

The judge decided on a lump sum of £16.5m and assets of £7.8m.
