When Telford Town Centre was originally planned back in the late sixties, there was only one existing factor on an otherwise "clean slate" - the railway line.
So what did our design geniuses do? Put the bus station as far from the railway line as possible! The centre could easily have been designed with a rail/bus interchange, even though the station itself was built some years later.
Let's hope this latest rehash of our centre-less town centre will show an improvement in common sense, rather than grandiose schemes intended to boost architects' egos.
