Opik leaves a lot to be desired

As a regular reader of the Star for more years than I care to remember, I get rather annoyed at seeing the never-ending and nonsensical involvements of MP Lembit Opik.

It is amazing just what this individual will get up to in order to focus attention on himself. The latest silly behaviour (November 2) was with the Cheeky Girls at a function in London.

Whatever its purpose, it serves only to show just how this public representative behaves - a far cry from his predecessor Alex Carlile.

Time and time again the readers of the Star have to suffer idiotic antics by this zany individual, who I consider to be a disgrace to the position he holds.

Like many others, I would like to know how the Star gets hold of such photographs.

Is it any wonder why the Liberal Democrat Party is so low in the opinion polls, with such members as him?

To make matters worse, his sidekick, AM Mick Bates is no better.

If this is politics the sooner they are given the boot the better.

I can think of many more urgent causes that would benefit from the substantial payments these two receive.

I personally feel that there is little point in voting at all for anyone, as they are all tarred with the same brush.
