Let elders live more peacefully
I have been quite saddened recently to read about a senior member of our community being robbed by people who tricked entry into his home and stole money.
I have been quite saddened recently to read about a senior member of our community being robbed by people who tricked entry into his home and stole money.
I was even more saddened when a close personal friend, in his senior years, was the victim of a cowardly and unprovoked attack against him which required him to attend hospital.
Like my friend, many of our senior community members have often experienced things that we never will, have committed great acts of bravery that was ultimately for our benefit, which has given us the majority of freedoms we enjoy today.
When even thinking about trying to trick, rob or steal from our senior community members, you should think "if it wasn't for people like these, we would not be enjoying our freedoms today".
So, instead, give them the respect they deserve, but more importantly, allow them the peace of mind that will let them enjoy their senior years without living in fear.
One day you will be old.
