Permit for UK work is needed
The announcement that the Conservatives now intend to take on the problem of mass, uncontrolled immigration and "do something about it" can hardly be serious.
The announcement that the Conservatives now intend to take on the problem of mass, uncontrolled immigration and "do something about it" can hardly be serious.
They rightly say this is to apply to non-EU immigration, ignoring the fact that at least 90 per cent of the problem is from or via EU countries about which they can do absolutely nothing.
In the EU Parliament the Conservatives voted for the accession of the new east European countries and for open borders. UKIP, correctly forecasting the tidal wave that would follow, voted against enlargement.
We were told we were to get about 13,000 from eastern Europe, but the total is now more than 1.1 million and rising fast.
The UKIP solution is to re-establish full border controls and a proper work permit system. The EU will not allow this.
No other options will work Mr Cameron.
