Entrance to town is horrible

When is something going to be done about the horrible entrance to Oswestry from the Gobowen road?

Those scarlet hoardings are as ugly as sin. The council should have taken over the railway land and turned it into a green floral plot to impress people who visit the town from afar.

Instead they see a scarlet hoarding that goes on and on, finally to end in a messy builders' yard. It then goes on to a weed-stricken wilderness with old redundant railway engines.

By the time visitors reach Oswestry Railway Station they get the impression that Oswestry is a dead duck.

Another thing is the lack of catering establishments where one can have a lunch out, especially on Monday.

My family and I decided to dine out but we had the greatest difficulty enjoying a roast lunch, or even finding one.

Our council has a lot to answer for. It allowed our railway land to go astray then stopped Sainsbury's from opening a restaurant on its premises but allowed a Chinese takeaway to open.

The resulting litter can be found along the roads next to the level crossing in Windsor Road and Middleton Road - probably tossed there by the same idiot who keeps moving a rubbish bin across the pavement.

As a disabled person who is scooter-bound, I have difficulty enough overcoming obstacles made difficult by thoughtless motorists who park across areas of drop pavement.

This can add quite a lot to the distance one travels and adds a bigger strain on the battery, which powers the vehicle.
