Extra bag decision not 'green'

I was pleased to read the recent letter about garden waste recycling. I wrote to the waste department of Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council challenging their decision not to collect extra bags.

I quote part of their reply.

I pointed out it is a 25-mile round trip from my home to the recycling centre, such trips hardly helping the environment.

If they refuse to collect from the kerbside, why do they not have facilities in each neighbourhood or village? I would welcome pressure being put on the council before it is too late!
