Treaty a re-hash of old failure

The Reform Treaty adopted by the European Union was a re-hash of the failed constitution of two years ago.

Nothing of any importance was taken out. I read eight newspaper and two online articles on the subject, all written by intelligent, lucid journalists, yet all 10 had a different slant on the outcome of the treaty

"Referendum demand over sell-out!" said one, "Britain stands to gain and not lose" said another, "Biair's 'red lines' were obviously as effective as the Maginot Line", said a third.

These widely different views are due to the tried and tested and very successful policy of making EU legislation, not "Keep it Simple" but "Keep it Complicated".

Make it so complicated that grown men, senior politicians and experienced journalists will venture opinions and issue statements to all and sundry rather than admit they do not have a clue what the Reform Treaty means.

I wonder where Britain got the title "Perfidious Albion" because, in the treachery department, Britain and her politicians have proved to be babes in arms compared to our European Union "partners"

Once again, and thankfully finally, Mr Blair has been sucked in, chewed up and spat out.
