Problems on road need sorting

I have just returned home on my trusted steed from Shrewsbury to Craven Arms down the A49.

I had a reasonable journey home but that was in direct conflict with my trip north earlier in the day.

I had to endure a traffic queue travelling all the way from Dobbies roundabout on the A5. At times I managed to reach 40mph along a 60mph road.

We were stuck behind a bus. I do not blame the bus driver. It is the road that is at fault, as there are no places that you can overtake safely.

The point I wish to highlight is that Craven Arms is in the midst of a consultation period for its expansion, with the building of 750 new homes and further development of industrial land.

Who in their right mind would consider locating a business in Craven Arms, when the main access is always snarled up with too much traffic that cannot safely travel at the speed limit of 60mph?

With no increase in appropriate jobs, where are the occupants of these new homes going to earn a living?

Of course they can commute to Shrewsbury, Telford or maybe Ludlow or Hereford on the A49. Is this how our planners work things out? Well done!
