I recently returned from Ludlow Town Centre where I found to my disgust another blatant example of the council wasting money.

Ludlow is celebrating the Streets Alive Festival with a selection of dance acts and workshops in the town centre and also inside Ludlow Assembly Rooms.

This in itself would be a good idea if they were showcasing British dancing and culture but to my horror I found two-thirds of the performers were celebrating foreign cultures, we have flamenco, African, south Indian, Armenian, Chinese and The Gangsters Breakdance Show.

A place like Ludlow, which is a traditional Shropshire market town, should be seeking to celebrate its own identity and culture and not wasting taxpayers' money on minority projects promoting cultures alien to our shores.

Speaking as someone who has returned to the county of their birth after many years in South East England, I see Ludlow as one of the last bastions of the British way of life.

I had hoped that this corner of England would remain free from this kind of interference, obviously Ludlow Town Council is in need of some new blood devoid of political correctness.
