Report of funeral in bad taste

I am appalled at the lead story on your front page on May 24. Giving such prominence to the funeral of a man who murdered a policeman is in the worst possible taste.

I am appalled at the lead story on your front page on May 24. Giving such prominence to the funeral of a man who murdered a policeman is in the worst possible taste.

If the story had to be covered at all, why not a brief few lines somewhere in the middle of the paper?

Constable Richard Gray was a well-respected and loyal police officer, who was doing his job when callously murdered. How can it possibly be right to give this murderer such a high profile?

Your story can only increase the distress of Constable Gray's family and colleagues.

Your story, and the prominence given to it, is a disgraceful reflection of the paper's values. I have been a reader of this paper for 30 years, but am seriously considering cancelling my order.
