I am so proud of Shrewsbury Town Football Club's fantastic success in reaching the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

The Town are now just one game away from a place in League One, with the prospect of games against former top flight clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.

In the same year the club has built and finished a brand new stadium ready for next season, in itself a brilliant result.

The manager, players, directors and other staff, and above all the supporters of STFC, can be rightly proud of this achievement.

The club did it the hard way, going away to the MK Dons and winning 2-1. While all the Town players were heroes, wasn't it just the icing on the cake that it was Shrewsbury-born player Andy Cooke, who was in the team's youth ranks, who scored both goals?

I wish everyone connected with Shrewsbury Town FC the very best of luck for the final on Saturday. Bring on Bristol Rovers!
