Making fun of Darwin
If Mr RT Jones wants to make fun of Darwin, then he needs to have a far greater knowledge of science.
If Mr RT Jones wants to make fun of Darwin, then he needs to have a far greater knowledge of science.
Picasso was able to make fun of old masters because he had the painting skills to do so. Dudley Moore could spoof Mozart because he was a music scholar.
Mr Jones, however, exhibits such woeful ignorance of entropy (2nd Law of Thermodynamics), evolution and time that he only makes himself look foolish while demeaning the religious beliefs he so obviously espouses.
If he wishes to state that evolution does not exist because his interpretation of the Bible does not allow it to, then he should say so.
He might also like to consider that where scientific observation is at odds with that interpretation, a little humility on his part might make him reconsider his interpretation.
A God that can encompass a universe infinite in its scope and variation in that first imperative, "Let there be Light", is surely not mocked by our small efforts towards comprehending just how magnificent that creation is.
It was not his work on evolution that destroyed Darwin's faith, but his inability to comprehend how a loving God could cause/allow the suffering and death of his youngest daughter.
